Information science and technology is one of the most active, fastest growing areas of study with the widest and deepest influence on our society as we enter the new millennium. It keeps changing our work- and life - styles, and is growing into a leading industry developing our national and global economy, not to mention its critical impact in areas such as biology,materials science, energy resources and the environment.
A new ge n e ration of pro fessionals is required to meet the challenge of this information science and te chnology revolution. This new generation needs respect for human life and ideals, a spirit of dedication to our motherland and its cause, a sound theoretical knowledge base integrated with practical experience and the ability to te a ch oneself, courage in exploration and creativeness in scientific research and self-confidence with modesty and flexibility. Our school will continue our efforts to create and keep an aggressive and harmonic atmosphere, which, we sincerely hope, will make our faculty and students better contributors to our society.
