Green ICT contributes not only to save energy or environmental protection, but also contributes to efficient and high functional society and physical infrastructure for all the human being and society on the globe. The research areas of Green ICT have large diversity, which is from device/material to system. In the workshop, faculties from Tsinghua University and the University of Tokyo presented many recent advances on Green ICT in both countries at No. 2 Building of Faculty of Engnieering of Todai. In the first part, Tsinghua faculties presented. Professor Wenguang Chen gave a talk on “Green High Performance Computer with Specialized Architecture”, Prof. Lin Zhang gave a talk on “’Sensing China’ with Development of Internet of Things”, Prof. Qianchuan Zhao gave a talk on “Improving Facility Energy Efficiency by Information Technology”, and Prof. Zhisheng Niu gave a talk on “Globally Resource?Optimization and Energy-Efficient(GREEN)”. In the second part, Todai faculties presents. Prof. Imaizumi gave a talk on “Green Network Equipments Project in Morikawa Lab”, and Prof. Esaki arranged a demonstration of Green University of Tokyo (GUT) Project. Besides the talks, Prof. Esaki and Prof. Asami also arranged lab tours to Tsinghua faculties. Prof. Asami also invited Tsinghua facilities to have lunch together.

This joint workshop provides a platform for exchanging research ideas in the area of green ICT with applications and both sides show interests in continuing to dialogue and explore future collaborations.？
