On the afternoon of March 20, Qian Yurong, Dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology (SCST), Xinjiang University, and her entourage visited the School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) of Tsinghua University, had a meeting with Ren Tianling, Vice Dean of the SIST. Liang He, Executive Vice Dean of the SCST, Xinjiang University, attended the meeting.

Ren Tianling welcomed the delegation from the SCST, Xinjiang University, and introduced the latest development in the construction of interdisciplinary innovation groups in the SIST and the Beijing National Research Center for Information Science and Technology (BNRist). On behalf of the SCST, Xinjiang University, Qian Yurong expressed sincere gratitude to the SIST, Tsinghua University for its help and support over the years, and handed in a thank-you letter from Xinjiang University.

The two parties conducted in-depth exchanges on the needs of high-end talent recruit , discipline development, student training, research cooperation in the SCST, Xinjiang University. During the exchange, Qian Yurong noted that this year marks the centenary of Xinjiang University. In order to promote high-quality development in an all-round way, the SCST, Xinjiang University will continue its efforts in the development of faculty quality, the training of information talents, and high-level research. Ren Tianling stressed the importance of innovation in the paired support mode, and hoped that through the efforts of both parties, a long-term mechanism would be established to achieve comprehensive promotion in all directions. He also noted that the SIST will continue to actively organize and implement the paired support strategy for the SCST, Xinjiang University and fully leverage the advantages of the information discipline cluster in Tsinghua University to support the SCST, Xinjiang University, and vigorously support the development of computer science and technology in Xinjiang University into a first-class discipline.
