电气与电子工程师学会 (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.,缩写为IEEE) 是跨国的学术组织,总部设在美国纽约市。IEEE已经有124年的历史。在国际电气电子界有巨大影响和作用,是举世公认的世界上最大、最强的技术型学会。现在IEEE已经发展成为全世界最大的专业性学会。她拥有365,000 余名会员,分布在世界150多个国家和地区;她有39个专业学会(Societies)和5个技术联合会(Councils);314个地区分会(Sections),分属于10个大区(Regions);1600多个专业分会(Technical Chapters);70,000多名学生会员和1430多个学生分会(Student Branches)。IEEE的专业覆盖非常广,包容整个电技术(Electro-Technologies)领域,如计算机、通信、微电子、遥感、自动化、宇航电子、广播、海洋工程、生物医学、智能交通系统,智能信息等领域。

Leah H. Jamieson

2007 IEEE President and CEO

Leah Jamieson is President and CEO of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) worldwide. Leah Jamieson received the BS in mathematics from MIT and the MSE and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University. She is the John A. Edwardson Dean of the College of Engineering, Ransburg Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and holds a courtesy appointment in Purdue's Department of Engineering at Purdue University. Her technical interests include speech recognition, parallel signal processing algorithms, and engineering education; she has published over 160 papers. Jamieson is co-founder and past director of the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) undergraduate engineering design program, initiated at Purdue and adopted by 17 universities. For her work with EPICS, she was co-recipient of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering’s 2005 Gordon Prize for Innovation in Engineering and Technology Education. She has served on advisory committees of the U. S. National Science Foundation and on the Board of Directors of the Computing Research Association. She is an IEEE Fellow and a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.
